Working with a consultant
Find a specialist with experience in your industry!
Get to know the consultant(s) and work together informally to help them prepare a proposal that addresses your objectives. You can often get some good, free assistance in clarifying these objectives.
Clarify your specific goals and larger objectives, and state these in writing to the consultant when you request their proposal. Remain flexible about these goals, since you are paying for the advice of the consultant about these matters—perhaps some of your goals could be refined or modified!
Prepare a rough budget range for the consultant. A good consultant will not simply bid the maximum amount, but should give you a few price options depending on the scope of their services. They will tell you if the budget is truly unrealistic and can help you re-evaluate your objectives or propose dividing the project over multiple phases.

How do you provide services?
We will:
Respond to all serious inquiries (time and human resources allowing) by preparing some initial research about the destinations and markets involved and learning about your business and needs through informal communication previous to submitting a proposal. We can also respond to your request for proposal;
Develop a proposal for services (generally a fixed price bid) and agree to a contract and terms for expenses, change requests, and ownership of copyrights;
Visit the destinations involved (when possible) to gain first-hand knowledge and understanding and to collect source materials;
Listen, and work with you to develop a shared understanding of your resources, markets, and needs, and document an appropriate strategy;
Determine and create the tools necessary to implement the strategy;
Contract services from our network of travel, marketing, and creative professionals, as needed to complement our own skills;
Maintain a dialogue to ensure that the new tools meet your goals;
Post work-in-progress, project milestones, tasks, messages, and documents to a secure project website, and solicit your input;

Help you to develop processes to facilitate the best use of your tools and monitor their effectiveness;
Create templates and web-based tools to empower you to update and modify your communications materials; and
Complete the process by soliciting your comments about the project and work relationship, to help us improve our service.
How much do your services cost?
Leave Home normally develops fixed bids which are unique to each project. We will usually propose payment of at least one third of the total cost at the beginning of each project, with the rest due after approval of a significant project milestone and upon completion of the project. We may propose that you contract our services for a separate, initial strategic phase to produce documents and plans [ examples ] prior to a contract for production of communications materials [ examples ].
Though we cannot present fixed prices here, we can tell you that we are cost-conscious and feel that we offer low prices. Leave Home is a young company looking to build its client base. We wish to serve independent and sustainable tourism organizations and businesses, and recognize that they often have quite limited financial resources. We are willing, in many cases, to work with you to find partners or other solutions for payment.
