Organizational identity, promotional videos, search engine marketing: Crooked Trails
We worked with the directors of non-profit community-based tourism group Crooked Trails
to understand their tourism philosophy, using questionnaires and informal interviews, and by attending their public events. Leave Home helped them fashion a new logo and produced three short video clips highlighting different aspects of their programs in Peru. Crooked Trails is very consciencious about the type of tourism they promote. Since tourist behavior and the cultural and environmental impacts of tourism are closely linked with the expectations tourists have of their travels, this care needed to extend to the imagery they used in their visual identity pieces and the word choices used for their search engine marketing plan.
The image of a cairn along a sweeping mountain path was chosen to represent the presence of human culture in remote environments and the journey through the mountain areas which are the focus of their programs.
Business identity: Vostok Travel
The logo created for Vostok Travel is intended to be friendly, emphasize Vostok's specialty in the Russian Far East, and bring to mind the excitement, natural beauty, and rich wildlife of the area.
